I am one of many developers participating in Apps for Water, a one day charity drive in which all sales proceeds for Tuesday, December 20, 2011, are being donated to charity: water. charity: water is a non-profit organization that brings clean drinking water to developing nations. During this one-day charity drive, CloudPull will be sold at a discounted price of $19.99.
If you buy through this web site, the drive begins now and will end at midnight Tuesday evening, California time (08:00 Wednesday morning, UTC). If you buy through the Mac App Store, the drive takes place on December 20 based on the time zone Apple assigns to your territory. Whether you buy through the Mac App Store or through this web site, all sales in which the price is discounted by 20% (to $19.99 in the United States) will be donated to charity.
In order to keep the accounting simple, the amount I will donate for each copy sold will be US$19.99. I will absorb the credit card processing costs and the Mac App Store costs, and ignore any international exchange rate differences.
I encourage you to visit the Apps for Water web site and browse the list of other participating Mac apps, iPhone apps, and iPad apps. Please be aware that, particularly outside the app stores, each developer will have his or her own interpretation of when December 20 begins and ends with respect to time zones.
Thank you to Mike Piatek-Jimenez of Gaucho Software for organizing this charity drive.
Update: The charity drive has concluded. Thank you to everyone who made purchases in support of this charity drive.
